There are a number of reasons why
you should choose Grassfed Beef...

- Lower in cholesterol, and calories
- Richer in antioxidants including vitamins E, beta-carotene, and vitamin C
- Four times higher in vitamin D
- Have more "good" fats - two to four times more omega-3 fatty acids
- Rich in CLA (conjugated linoleic acid)
Our cows at Hunter Cattle Company
receive:
NO steroids
NO hormones
NO resistance building antibiotics
NO animal byproducts
- Animals will consume no grain*, grain by-product, alternative feed, or by-products from other animals. Animals will be maintained and finished on natural grasses and forages. Cereal grains are permissible in the vegetative state (as seed with the leaf). Stored forage should be in the form of cured grass or legume hay.
- Animals will be free from antibiotics, growth hormones, steroids, pesticides, and confinement.
- Animals with the need to recieve antibiotics for health reasons will be removed from the program.
- Animals will be of genetic type with the ability to finish on forage at proper body condition and maturity. This will be established through visual appraisal, genetic verifiers (tenderness gene), carcass testing, or all inclusive.
- Animals are humanely handled and processed with minimum amount of stress and crowding.
- Cattle disposition should be scored and only animals with suitable scores be eligible. High-strung animals lead to handling difficulties and stress.
- Slaughtering and processing of these animals is accomplished with a minimal amount of stress.
- Animals do not graze on land treated with pesticides.
*On rare occasions a small amount of grain will be given in the case of corral inspections and sorting of animals. This would amount to less than 1% of that particular days intake.
